Bee Garden

This is another fun attempt at Brazilian embroidery or 3d embroidery, mixed with the gel transfer of a photo right onto the fabric. Not sure if these early pieces could ever be used for anything or sold any where but I’m having fun trying. I like how this came out looking antiqued.

  1. The gel transfer is great — at first glance I thought it was also 3D. Since I adore arpilleras, I started researching 3d embroidery. I had no idea there was something called stumpwork out there! I think 3D embroidery is terrific. Have you considered putting a few pieces on Etsy? Nothing like having pieces at galleries, to be sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some time you write about your first gallery exhibit 🙂
